I agree with Verg wholeheartedly on this one. I've been on another message board where they tried to do something similar to this, and we shut the poll down for the very same reasons. Well, not EXACTLY the same; it is a very small board, with only half a dozen active members, so it wasn't too hard to read all the RP from the year.
However, out of all the people that have put so many hours of work, applying their talents for everyone's sake, how can we insult all others by choosing just one? I mean no offense to Treewyrm, I have the utmost respect for him; but it seems to me that it's something of an unintentional affront to the many excellent RPers on this server to simply choose one to put out there as the best.
And bias shows, as well. I think Marburg has done an exemplary job bringing Islay to life in his RP stories, yet he garnered not a single vote. And he's just one of many that have put a lot of thought and paragraphs into this message board, making it richer as a whole by their efforts. And, more to the point is Hoodlum's post: I arrived in October, and so I can't really say I'm qualified to vote in a "best of 2007" affair anyway.
