Recent and old games, good and MP worthy?

I know you mentioned not preferring first person shooters, but I can't recommend Deus Ex enough;)Also:

Master of Orion 2 (third one sucked largely)
Civilization IV
Europa Universalis 3 (with all expansion packs)
XCOM series

Civ IV - think ive been to it.
EU3 - I dont like the EU style, prefering HoI series.
XCOM series - srsly, playing X-Com since 1994 or 5:D
