Unfortunately that speed was abused earlier in the days of the mod when people would cruise, have a ship behind them get up to the 420 intercept speed, EK, adrift in front of the first ship, then that one cruises to catch up and hits 420 and EKs and suddenly you have two ships flying alot faster than anything that is running from them or trying to escape them.
