You've already asserted that the other fellow was a random stranger who was not associated with you in any way. He didn't hire you on the spot either. But you just jumped right in shooting, with no supporting RP other than "Well it seems we've got a situation..." Correct me if I'm wrong, but I am pretty sure Freelancer ID is not allowed to just pick sides in any fight and jump right in shooting. Yes you did do something wrong AND bad. No I'm not filing a complaint.
More to the point, I am pretty sure you wouldnt have gotten the ID and boat if you had been forthright and said you were going to use it to amplify what you were already doing. If you cant show the restraint required to own them, perhaps you shouldnt have them.
