KNF and Sigmas

My opinion is that KNF should not patrol in Sigmas.. but can pursue pirates that retreat there from Kusari as well as aid traders in distress. But if Outcasts fight Corsairs or the BHG without attacking anyone else we should not move in.

I agree, sorta. Pretty much, this is how I think it should work. Miscellaneous pirate is pirating in sigma-13. KNF person happens to be in honshu. If the trader doesn't want to pay tax, he contacts KNF as he's running away, who comes to save him.

However, one thing sort of bugs me. Look at the factions* who have ZOI in there. There's GMG, Outcasts, Corsairs, ALG, Junkers. The thing is there isn't really any lawful player force as there isnt an active GMG group. However, there seems to be plenty of random capital ships patrolling. A few days ago, in one day, I saw a BH ID Bounty Hunter battlecruiser, Red Hessian ID RH battlecruiser, and LPI ID Liberty cruiser. To be honest, I dont think there should be Bounty Hunters randomly patrolling unless they are pursuing a specific bounty, or red hessians unless.. um.. no I can't think of a good reason. And the Liberty Cruiser was trading Diamonds. Likewise, KNF shouldn't randomly be patrolling^, but yes, if they are asked for help, then they should front up in S-13.

Some points:

- GMG is a company with Kusari origins and is mostly likely to ask KNF for help.
- There are civilian bases both in Sigma 17 and 19, planet Kurile belongs to Samura.. which has very powerfull connections in Kusari goverment, so it's likely that KNF would be called if they needed help.

I really don't think GMG would ask for help, but individual traders would if there isn't a GMG squadron around. GMG is fiercely independent. They only let the Junkers and ALG in because of the wreckage/radiation (a Junker rumour on Yanagi says something like "the GMG have no idea what we are doing with the criminal element here. If they did we would be kicked out pronto"). Hell, they don't even let Bounty Hunters into Sigma-13. (possibly the one system there aren't any BH npcs..;)).


Personally my solution would be hiring freelancers/mercenaries to keep pirates out, or placing a bounty on any pirate killed in sigma-13.
