its doublesided. yesterday - i was flying on cheshire ( sea serpent ) across manhatten to detroit depot. and what did i run into... a LR outcast battleship. - makes me wish for more independents in capital ships.
anyway - piloting is a bit of an evolution. - most people start out as big as they can - and develope more and more towards the smaller stuff. so people safe up for a BB at first. and then slowly go to fighters - ( at that time, they tend to develope a dislike for other new people in battleships )
but just for you to know - its not only independents spamming warships. - its established factions aswell. - and its not a sign of poor RP. a horde of angry capital ships chasing a light fighter is pointless anyway. the fighter will simply evade / escape.
about BHGs teaming up against a common foe. - well, i tried to to play the way that i would only target those that have a bounty on their heads. however - it turned out that i am attacked on sight by any other person - including zoners and trader IDed traders ( yay for funny roleplay ). so - being attacked by everyone left and right - do you truely think the BHG wouldn t team up? - i agree that they are rather indepentent thugs - but then ... the enviroment shapes the characters. they become much more tightly knit when attacked and harrassed by everyone. - oh, and they tend to fly stuff that protects them from the occasional funny guy that shoots them for fun. - ( i had two liberty military shoot cheshire for fun yesterday, cause they don t know the rules and shoot at anything that moves - and when you complain they say stuff like "watch your mouth")
