Quote:Oh, what's this I see? Yet another person attacking very well written RP that has been going for a minimum of 6 months? Ya, alright, my turn...
.. Why the snotty, bratty attitude..? Is there a point in that?
Quote:You don't think it's right for Richard Walters to fly a Kusari Destroyer? Well good for you, don't care, obviously. The destroyer of late Ambassador Fiona deLuna was wrecked, NOT destroyed. Meaning, it still exists and can be repaired! And yes, it means the character can fly it, as we have a reason. As Harley said, go read the threads. They're very well done and most of complimented and enjoyed them.
You obviously haven't read anything in this thread.
I'm of the opinion that roleplay should happen on-the-fly, and in real-time. As in, in the actual game world. No, I'll never be satisfied with an "RP story", because stories will always go exactly the way that the author wants them too and it removes the option for player interaction. Of course it's already been stated that Harley's ship acquisition did happen in-game, the fact still remains that most don't. Most players don't even write a thread before buying whatever ship, and alot of the ones who do seem to think that all you need to do is write a simple story and then suddenly you can do whatever you want..
That's not roleplay, it's creative writing. There's a difference.
Quote:Now, as for people just wanting to fly their favorite ship? Well good, then can, go write a long RP for it and make it last a very long time, then get the ship. That's what has been done here, and I highly doubt we'll give in to a single person argument like your own.
.. My arguments are based off of real-world experience. I've been in the United States Air Force for about eight and a half years now, and yeah, I'm an aviator. I've flown F-18's, F-22's, hells.. I've even flown one of the old B-36 Peacemaker Bombers (though only once, admittedly).
.. The setting we play in is based entirely off of our modern world. Every faction is derived from the world you and I live in, it's only common sense to look at that for a common "standard." If you want to fly your favorite ship, then you should be willing to play the role that comes with it.
Quote:Now then, before you start attacking EVERYONES roleplay (which is all I've seen in this thread), go read it first, I can guarantee you'll be surprised.
I shouldn't have to read a story to know what your roleplay is about, ideally. That should be happening in-game, not on a forum where everything is static. If that's the case we may aswell go back to singleplayer, 'cause it's the same thing with less effort and alot less complaining. RP stories should only compliment in-character actions, not be the basis of all roleplay everywhere.
Quote:Older members (1 year +) should have a luxury of doing so, as a reward for being part of this community for a long time.
.. That's the dumbest thing written here yet. Older players should pave the way for newer players. Older players should be setting examples. Being here for longer than someone else shouldn't make you "favored", and if it does just tell me now, 'cause I'll call it quits and you won't have to deal with me anymore. This is exactly the sort of logic that will utterly destroy a community like this, let me know if I'm just wasting my time, please.
