I think bases are way to hard to destroy, I understand it, it is an investment of time and money and something to force people to spend money and force them to work together. I still kind of like the idea of a special base sieging ship that can only be built by player bases, maybe something similar to a barge in terms of flight characteristics, but whatever weapons it has are not doing 1% base damage when the shield is up, but a lot more.

As an alternative to that it would be cool to see bombers do more damage to bases, making people have to move around and get shot at by fighters or something.
