Again, reputation for being Elite counts for nothing, back it up with real force or its all a lot of hot air. Sure liberty is a major house with greater economic power, which the Corsairs don't have - but that doesn't mean Corsairs aren't going to attack and raid targets in liberty... What they are NOT able to do is STAY there....
I'm not saying Corsairs ignore the NPC's in Alaska.. they cant... they get shot by them... but what im saying is that if Liberty is serious about stopping people coming through Alaska to New York then its gonna be up to the Human players to do it - why don't the human players park some ships regularly at the mouth of the minefield? it makes perfect sense to me... protect your secret base with real protection.
Arguing whether Zone 21 and Alaska are secret or not from the point of view of the Corsairs is a waste of time, They know it's there, The Order knows its there, and they are using it. I have done the Alaska run to NY many times, I've done it in my gunboat a few times as well so i can make some money - i have never ONCE ran into a Liberty Force stationed at the mouth of the mine field - ..I would love to jump into NY one time and find a couple of Human Cap ships sitting at the minefield entrance pointing big nasty guns at me and saying "Boy.. you sure are in the wrong place" - There is no room to maneuver in that mine passage....
Sorry, but, your example is actually a really bad one.
The "V" people won on their own ground, and that is the reason why Corsairs still exist.
They are good on their own ground.
But if those "V" people attacked the States on their ground, could you guess the outcome?
Of course you could. So, actually, your example is a good one, but for our view.
Also, people on the other side of Alaska JG aren't important. They can't spread their knowledge in Liberty.
If they try to get in, they get shot.
However, if anyone in New York speaks of such a place, it makes sense to put him under arrest, and if someone tries to discover it on his own, well, it makes sense to blast him into tiny pieces.
Liberty population has maybe heard of it, but they have no idea where it is, or what's there.
That minefield that everyone knows to pass trough is there for a reason.
In RP you would not be able to pass trough it without special maps, and that is a fact.
You would die if you tried to get trough ti without a map.
Same like in Tau-31 and that tiny minefield over there.
That tiny one is actually like 150x times smaller then the one in Zone-21, and you still need a map for it.
Plus, the minefield is under the protection of the Navy.
There is no way in hell that anyone could ever get trough if it's not a House fleet.
Maybe Osiris, because it has a cloaking device (SP Osiris, not a battleship class).
Everyone else, back off.
