If capital ships were actually as powerful as they should be the i would be for it, however in their current state two decently skilled bombers can wreck any cap out there, due to the simple fact that the capital just cant damage the bombers enough before going down or losing its armaments.
Out of personal experience i have seen far more genuine douchebaggery in bombers and pirate transports than i have in capital ships, out of the 4 years ive been here now.
BS being a problem? grab two bombers and ream his face.
Multiple battleships a problem? Grab some more buddies and pick targets. They will go down quite fast unless they are VERY skilled.
On the flip side, multiple gunboats a problem? ...only solution is other gunboats, as cruisers and bs just cant effectively engage them. They will just flat out be overwhelmed by fire.
Bombers being a problem? Well, SOL if they are any good, dodge for quite some time unless you have a cadre of equally skilled fighter pilots.
Fighters being a problem? Only solution is other fighters. Sometimes not even that if the guy lags like no tommorow.
seeing as battleships and cruisers are very easily countered by comparison, I think such a thing isnt really needed. Yes, there are a few complete nimrods in capitals, but there, at least from my experience, are far and away much more common in the other ship classes. And those other ship classes are even HARDER to counter, since it almost always requires a significant numbers advantage do get it done in any short amount of time, unlike capital ship fights which are comically short.
You want to make caps need fuel, ammo, repairs? Fine. But it just wouldent make any sense to not give them a REASON to be so costly. Otherwise your looking at the majoroty of cap fliers who DO rp, getting lolganked by bombers who dont. Why should we penalise the roleplayers, and ignore the idiots actually at fault? Seems flawed to punish many for the actions of so few. If we go down that road then we should make snac's not work on transports (since theres alot of arses that like to pick on lobies that have no chance) Or make cruisers unable to hurt transports. ("may engage" Line on the ID was a huge mistake i think. No matter how you hash it, cruiser vs transport is only gonna end well for one of the two, and it isnt the guy whos trying to make some creds. its the guy looking for cheap thrills and not thinking about others.)
TLR, caps are right now a pale shadow of what they should be. If you think they are a problem at the moment then i suggest you stop flying into their point blank ranges, as most of them cant hit jack anything BUT strafe range.
