The fact is with any force as big as the Omicron fleet has currently assembled, there's bound to be a few lulwuts. Some are Alliance alts blowing up platforms, some are anti-Alliance indies, and some simply shouldn't be there. There's always (sadly) going to be some people who don't Rp before attacking bases, but that doesn't make it acceptable.
InRp though, the Omicron 74 bases have been under a constant state of siege for nearly a month now, so maybe people utilise that as their reasoning.
I guess blindenguaging bases is harder to counter and more easy to justify since a base is an NPC effectively and cannot Rp back, whilst a player is a player and will report (and rightly so) you if you just start firing the moment you log, so it's a very easy crime to get away with.
Regardless, I always try and keep a four-or-more lines of Rp minimum before enguaging anything other than a ship-based NPC, even under circumstances where the hostile is actively seeking engagement.
