Time for a Sirius poll

In my total honesty, if I was placed right there on the spot, I wouldn't go. The reasoning's complex, but it's distilled down to two reasons:

1.) I'm a coward if put on the spot.
2.) I'm a human, and it's my (self-implied) duty to continue living on this planet and progress the human race here, rather than run away from my familial and species' responsibilities.

BUT

If I'm given at least half a day to really think about it, I would go. I mean, staying on this mud-ball would be fine, but what if you could actually do more as a crew on this alien ship than you could ever do as an ordinary human? You could represent the entire Human Race as their friggin' ambassador! You could make yourself represent the best ideals of humanity! ... Or you can fall quite embarrassingly as the one human that doomed Humanity for failing so miserably, but at LEAST you tried! And just as Morbid said, how many people are given this one-in-an-infinity chance to be the first to traverse the cosmos?



tl;dr

I wouldn't go at first. I would go if given some time to think and mentally prepare.
So I chose second option.
