Short Bio: At the age of 18, I met up with the captain of the Zoner cruiser
Corvo named "Lazarus". He was looking for a young person to be trained as as
a ships apprentice. Being an orphan and having few ties left on Planet Denver I
decided to take him up on his offer and get the valuable training that could lead
me to become a captain of my own ship some day....Six years flew by and
while under his guidance I mastered all of the posts on board thr "Lazurus". After
that, I became the youngest Executive Officer in the Zoner Fleet.
While pulling into port at Scarborough Station in Newcastle I ran into an old
family friend of my father's back on Planet Denver who was working as a ships
captain for BOWEX Corp...He explained to me that the Directors of the company
were looking for a few trustworthy captains to ferry BOWEX investors to some of
the wonders of Sirius. To make a long story short, I was excepted. This was a
chance of a lifetime This trip was to the Tottori system. We would be headed to
the "Golden Dragon Casino". Even though the gaming was controlled by the
Hogosha Organization, BOWEX had a standing agreement with them. The casino
usually milked the players dry, so they were happy to give them safe passage.
When my passangers were getting ready to head out to the casino, a Mr. Fence,
one of my investors invited me to go with them which meant I would be allowed
to gamble.Being young and having plenty of time to earn back my losses I had
decided to give it a wirl. Each hand I would wager 2 or 3 months pay and win
some and lose some.I was holding my own all night and as the last hand came
around Mr. Fence walked up to my table and said I should take my winnings and
go back to the ship. I said that I was playing to win. He was not too happy about
my answer. The round started.....When the dealer finished and we all looked at
our cards I noticed a smirk on MR. Fence"s face.As he fanned out his cards,he
had an inside straight. He then said to me,"Ya should have gone back to the ship
like I told ya to,.kid. Ihad bet everything I owned and would owm for a few years on
this hand. I put down my cards one at a time, 1..2..3..4..Tens. Mr.Fence went
crazy and promised to have me fired. Well, I had won a fortune and I was not too
worried about that but I contacted my higher ups on Scarborough and filled them
in. They said they understood but had to let me go because they needed this
guys money. We left on oherwise good terms.
I then decided that I wanted to purchase a transport and make my fortune that
way. Thus this letter.
Why do I wish to join Daumann: In my travels through Sirius I have heard many
good things about your company. Usually coming from your own employees, now
that's a switch. Many workers whine about their employers. I took note of that.
Why should you hire me: I focus on the task at hand, I am a hard worker and
will not fold under pressure.
