[font=Lucida Sans Unicode]The three men huddled together in a small storage compartment crammed with spare electronics. The rest of the raider unit was in an adjoining compartment, where there was more space to accommodate their numbers. Rage looked from the sergeant to the other man, keen interest in his eyes. This other raider was one of the infiltration experts, making his reconnaissance report.
Raider units were finely-honed weapons, filled out with highly-trained professionals. They consisted in four pairs of each of these battle tech ratings: demolitions experts, hackers, heavy weapons specialists, and infiltration experts. (These names are all self-explanatory -- no misnomers here, the name tells the function.) The ninth man of the team was, of course, the team leader (the sergeant). Rage now narrowed his eyes and listened closely to the report being given.
"There are twelve guards on station. Heavily armed and armored. Three at the door and the rest close by inside the chamber. Disposition: Alert and Ready." He revealed the bio-readings displayed on his snoop scope's LCD to his boss, who nodded curtly in acknowledgment. He turned to Rage, obviously looking for orders.
Rage had gotten himself back under control with a great force of will. He had shoved all of the emotion down deep inside, like cramming too much crap in too small a bag. And it felt just like that. But it allowed him to function as normal, to get past all the raw emotions. Of course, he definitely pitied the man that opened that closet door. There would be a world of hurt falling out onto his idiot little head. He grimaced with the thought, then turned to the sergeant, "Recommendations?" .
The lean, leathery-faced veteran pursed his lips, shook his head. "No way to take 'em out easy, without alerting the station. And if we do that we are lost... we don't have enough men to take on the garrison."
"Concur." Rage whistled softly, then suddenly cocked his head to one side in contemplation. "Got an idea... give me a minute to go over the station plans..." and he was promptly left alone to do so.
