Some idea I randomly thought of, and could be fun. So:
If Bretonia ever managed to disable the jump gate to Edinburgh, which is in Leeds, Gallic ships would only be able to come trough Tau-31, which would be turned into a bottleneck. And you know of the Outcasts and the Colonials, and about their love for the Taus. Besides that, there is a jump hole in Newcastle leading there. I won't even talk about what could happen if the Shogun returned to power.
Disabling a whole jump gate probably isn't an easy task, and I'd like to know what should be used for it, how long would it last, etc... If it is possible to destroy it in a certain period of time, this is the plan:
The jump gate to Edinburgh is not guarded by any NPC stations, and NPC patrols seem to be rarer around it than around other objects in Leeds. That doesn't only mean that Leeds is weak there, but also that Gallia doesn't expect an attack at Edinburgh jump gate. The trade lane separating it from planet Leeds, and the nearest Gallic fleet, has been cut. The jump hole to New London is fairly close. Magellan, a Libertonian springboard, isn't far either. If Liberty manages to pull off a diversion at planet Leeds, Bretonia from Dundee in Edinburgh, and disrupt what has left of the mentioned lane with a few fighters, they might be able to place a small deconstructive fleet near the gate, which will do what deconstructive fleets are meant to do.
Nether Bretonia, nor Liberty, should use large fleets, since all that don't manage to run away might be lost.
Is it possible? Fun? Or just another one of those funny ideas you get at 11:12pm, after a difficult day?
