I came into this thread with an open mind. Then I saw this.

- a vast Sirius-Wide collective
- technologically advanced
- well trained soldiers, as every life is sacred and every loss hurts
- capital class warships usually operate close to freeports and our homeworld
- construction on one shipyard is usually a join effort between those organizations within the Zoners that can afford such an endeavour
- got a good share of actual "allies" and "confidants" to work with, people that're actually able to provide technological research and support, as well as soldiers. They also control their very own part of space.
- are on a sirius-wide ideal that was ruled over decades under the idea of the free man, but it always was -one united collective- despite all its internal differences.
And I lol'd.
This sort of grasping at straws type wishful thinking is precisely why Zoner RP is broken.
Perhaps if this sort of attempt at changing a faction happened to quite literally ANY other faction that isn't entirely about living in rugged individualistic lifestyles on the edges of Sirius EXACTLY for the sake of living in rugged individualistic lifestyles on the edges of Sirius, things might have been a little different.
Zoners having open access to battleships is not the same as Outcasts having battleships.
It's the same as the Corsairs hauling cardamine while enforcing house law - it's simply completely and utterly divergent and contrary to the core of the faction RP.
That being said, Gyrtrash has some good points.
I think that the official factions should be consulted and be a party in faction lore and "balance" discussions - in a very substantial position.
The admins and devs are DMs, and exist to allow the stories made by the players to manifest into substance in a manner that they believe to be conducive to fun - not to railroad their players into something with no input from the players. Players, in turn, are obligated to stick to their RP in a way that suits the story and to logical progression.
I'm not entirely sure why people are insisting on claiming that the removal of battleships will significantly alter Zoner ability to defend themselves. Battleships have been nerfed to being little more than jumpships and base siegemachines. Battleships aren't even the best counter against other battleships, and serve only to be a symbol of military power - something that the Zoners shouldn't be touting.
If anything, anything even resembling a zoner "military" should be something close to what the GMG has.
