Machine got slowly and unsteadily to his feet with one hand covering his eyes and massaging his face.
"First. Ow. Second."
Pointing at Silver's pocket without uncovering his eyes
"You. Naughty. You knew fine well what you were and weren't supposed to play with. Explosions can be fun but you're caught. I seen you. This is a warning. Next time it's . . . this."
Machine reached into his inside his pocket and revealed . . . well . . . there's no other way to put it . . . a cutsie-wutsie-fluffy-wuffy-bunnie backpack. Just like the overpriced ones available at your local toy store. Without moving the ball recoiled in sheer terror until Machine put it away.
"Clear? Good. Third."
Taking his hand away from his face Machine blinked a few times blearily then nodded to Silver.
"My lady, you know you look even better on this side of the veil? All the data's loaded on the thing there. Easy, right? I'll do a thorough look through and draw up some base schematics later but . . . just now . . ."
Hazily looking from one side of the bay to the other he sees a door and starts to stagger towards it
"What was I saying? Oh, yeah. It might be the explosion, smoke inhalation, blood loss or what feels like a good shot to my ribs but I really need a something just now. Fancy a something Silver? Well I do but I'm taking the lift. Nice and non-paradimensional. You're more than welcome to join me."
Stopping and turning from the door to face her he says weakly
"Oh, and thanks."
He then continues the slow painful journey towards the door, the lift and then a something. Maybe two.
