FLHook isn't that badly optimized, and does have threading support.
Our issue we currently face is not plugins, or FLServer's singlethreadedness and inability to be multi-cored. Modern multi-core Intel processors have the ability to dynamically disable extraneous cores to overclock one core when it's under heavy load, so a quad core hyperthreaded processor can indeed act as a single-core processor when the processor determines that is necessary.
Our issue is the host, which for some ungodly reason has amazing packet loss at the routers, causing incredible lag in-game.
I will have ask someone in charge to find a number prefixed with a Euro sign for you.
