Dearest friends in the Independent Miners Guild, please allow me to introduce myself. My name is Freytag, and I was a member of the Rheinländische Volksfreiheitspartei - you may remember it as an armed wing of the people's Bundschuh party. Your organization has a history of jolly cooperation with the Bundschuh party, and it is sheerly on your goodwill that I am depending with this message. I will be frank with you, as I understand that you are busy folk, which I admire. I am seeking your charity. I am currently squatting in an abandoned apartment in the manufacturing town of Castrop on Nuremburg, and my face is recognized by the Polizei as that of a political dissident.

It is my hope that you may sometime soon - within the next week or two, perhaps - send a transport to Nuremburg to acquire some sort of commodity, and perhaps swing my way and permit me access to Freistadt's long-range transmitters such that I may contact an old comrade of mine with whom I have fallen out of contact. I am fully aware of the presumptuous and perhaps expensive nature of such a hope, but your people have never been fair-weather friends. I shall eagerly await your response, brothers.
