Today the Niflheim moored by the Kaiserslautern Depot with a purely representative mission to LWB. With every passing hour, I was more desperate to find an excuse to say my partings to my hosts and leave to do something more productive.
And then Niflheim received distress call from one of our allies. It was Bundschuh pilot, Andreas,Hoch, who was chased by one of Kanzlers hounds, the RNC-Neuschwanstein.
Niflheim moved in swiftly, and as it's presence became obvious, Herr Hoch changed his stance towards his oppressor, stopping chase and provoking him to fight.
When target generators were dry, I've ordered Niflheim to move and capitalise on such favorable turn of events.
Thanks to superior agility of Hessian iron, enemy was easily overpowered. Then its kapitan announced his surrender, however he keeped his shaff's shields up and ignored my demand to lower them and prepare to be boarded.
As our pulses stripped hostile ship of its shields, they've made last one attempt to save their ship, but time for reasistance was long past.
I have then parted my ways with Bundschuh and returned to Vogtland for resupply and repairs, leaving my ship in dry dock. Unlable to cope with emotions from prior encounter, I have decided to vent them by taking my fighter for patrol.
I was suprised to learn that Bundschuh from ealier had ship on Vogtland, BW gunship christened Albatross. Together we have patroled Dresden for entrepreneurs using our space for shortcut to connecting Omega 11 with Rheinland.
My intuition didn't betray me, for near JH to Omega 11 we have intercepted free mining ship trying to make its way to mining fields. Sadly its pilot Patrick.Snow ignored my repeated demands to stop, and I've had to make an example from him.
After patrol, I have returned to Vogtland, where I have pulled my flag on the Niflheim again. From it I have set out into New Berlin, where I was joined by one of cruisers from our auxilary fleet, the Harpy.
With three ships at my disposal, I have laid trap on the tradelane connecting Bonn station with Stuttgard gate. In this trap another cruiser felt, SMS_Preussen. However it's kapitan being more reasonable than previous one, saw trough our ploy and ignored Albatross attacks, understanding it was merely a bait to occupy him in time for our cruisers to move in and claim his vessel.
He made it to Bonn, where he sounded alert that was met with suprisingly overwhelming response, as two battleships responded to it: SMS_Emden and the RNC-Prinz_eagen. This movement attracted attention of one of our axuilaries, kapitan of the RHC-Schygel Vidar cruiser that has reinforced us, bringing my group ships number up to four.
Using edge of asteroid field for cover, we have carefully engaged hostiles, dealing damage to them:
As we have exchanged blows, has SMS_Emden withdrawed from battle, but not before being reinforced by another Bismarck battleship, the RNC-Andromeda. It's place was taken by SMS_Preussen that has returned from Bonn station.
Eventually cruiser's kapitan made mistake by straying too far from battleships, giving us opportunity to strike. We have jumped him like starved wolvs jump strayed sheep, and his vessel was destroyed, however not without a cost:
With this loss, we maintained our line dealing more damage to battleships, but as our effords brought minimal result and every minute could have brought upon us force more suited to engage our ships within asteroid field, I have ordered retreat.
My report ends where it begun, with the Niflheim moored at Kaiserslautern Depot, where it is currently receiving emergency repairs.
