Benjamin had placed aside the Ships for Sale adds and moved on to the economic news. It looked like Gate and Lane parts were up again...he might have to speak to Sherry up at the Ageira office about some expedient hauling, if she had some critical components that needed delivering up to the Taus or some such, and the war between Kusari and Bretonia had slowed down again, so that opened that up as a potential shipping corridor as well. Oh, and he should drop down to Gran Canaria and pick up some of that super-weed they kept down there...just to entertain guests on the Red Royal. They'd tried piping Synth into the air ducts and sale went up sixteen percent. It was decided Cardamine was a bit too harsh and addictive for an air additive, but Benjamin was always ready to try new things...
He hefted the mug to his lips and found nothing there. That had gone faster than he'd thought...he tapped the glass. "Sophie, love, would you mind filling this up for me again? It's been a while since I've had decent alcohol.
"Right away, Mister Eppstein." She grasped his mug and slid around the end of the bar into the back room. That rosy glow on his cheeks was not looking good...she deftly went over to the utility sink and filled it halfways with distilled water before proceeding over to the liquer cabinets. After one mug of that ale he'd probably not notice a difference, that stuff was so strong...
"Ah, thank you, Sophie." He looked slightly to the left of her, eyes slightly glazed over. Luckily he wasn't a loud drunk...
Eppstein put down the economics section and picked the Ship for Sale adds up again. Oh, god, NOT a Heavy Tanker... He went back to staring at the Borderworlds Transport and the Behemoth. Their edges were starting to blur...that may have been a sign that he was looking too long, but he really ought to make this decision soon. He already had a good hundred million set aside for the venture, best to act soon before ship prices skyrocketed again...
