Superintendent Calvert strolled out of the front doors which always were filled to breaking point of those who decided that where ever they needed to be, they were needed there yesterday and no one was going to stop them. He pushed, weaved and generally barged thorough the crowd until he broke free of the masses into the sanctuary of a courtyard he could have sworn wasn't here the last time he was on New London. "Always changing every little thing these chaps are, never satisfied just to live with the old" the stressed Superintendent muttered to himself. His deep blue eyes unconsciously searched the courtyard as they had often done before when walking the beat of this very city among countless others.
Flashing from off duty constables to the nooks that are the universal places where trouble makers inhabit. The calm eyes pass over the royal purple and white paint before double taking back the very instant the nose caught up a waft of something familiar. "Christy's?" inhaling deeply before confirming "By Joe! There is only one tea that smells like that..." Extending his stride to maximum before he skids to a stop in front of the entrance "Well I'll be darned, it really is Christy's".
Stepping inside he chuckles to himself at the heavy duty bolts securing the sparkling new tables to the floor "The old girl really did hate it when the Liverpool and Kingston boys got a bit rough with the furniture". Sitting himself down he notices the curtain drawn reveling nothing as to what was behind it. "I suppose I'll be spending most of my time behind there, gee its been a long time since that sort of..." He murmurs to himself while pondering what word is most appropriate. "Gathering not meeting, what was discussed there was far to sensitive for a meeting." Noting the young Countess of Araluen and her watcher Oliver debating something on the central table. He nods in their general direction catching Olivers eye before casting his eyes on the body of the young Countess who is the heart throb of most of his younger officers.
Stretching out he decides that Cambridge can manage another hour without him. "Well its got nothing like the smell of the farms of Cambridge or even the homeliness of its old location." Finally raising his voice "Christy Oh Queen of Teas, Could a man get the same old brew with crumpets that he craves?" As a final note to himself "but its got my seal of approval."
