The group in question are using new characters, unrelated to any indies we might or might not have. It should be pretty obvious, if the names are different.
As for the goals, it is merely a test whether or not a public terrorist ID may be used for lawful roleplay. Not to mention if a vigilante faction can be done right, without a proper Vigilante ID. If not, the perhaps we will gather enough evidence and suggestions to have it be returned. If not, then it will just prove that such RP can be done with existing IDs and that we do not indeed need to return the old Vigilante ID.
So far, we already have one vigilante group attempt via using the LPI and LN Ids. So far, as much as we can see from the feedback thread, things are not going as well as they would like. Now it is time for another group to try and do the same RP with a different ID to see if the problem is the choice of ID or the vigilante RP in general has no place in Disco.
And just for fun, obviously.
EDIT: Though truth be told, I am eager to see just how will this act out ingame. I mean, for whatever background RP the character has- the question here is whether or not this can be exposed with something better than just flying around killing pirates and dropping the occasional line that the existing lawful forces suck at their job. I am really hoping that it will be more than that.
