That's quite a mouthful. Aren't the unwashed masses the random players who log onto Discovery RP, buy a battleship, and then go rampant across Sirius? How exactly are we wild for wanting some restrictions that will make the proposed faction stick more truly to its SP counterpart?
Also, a new faction is going to affect everybody, whether they like it or not. A faction proposal is not a one man band, so it should be willing to incorporate the ideas of others on the server (which Wraithkin is doing, I might add).
