On the last Rheinland Laws revision (not the current one), we voted on the legality of a number of "controversial" new commodities, including Blue Jillies. A clear majority voted to keep them legal.
Essentially for this reason:
Quote:Tl;dr: All Blood diamonds are made by Hessians and money from it goes to them, but not all jillies are made by LWB and not all money from it goes to them.
The infocard mentions "some LWB supporters wearing the flower".
This is not the same as Blood Diamonds, which are actually manufactured directly by Hessians and sold only on their bases. Blood Diamonds are not illegal for symbolic reasons, but because their purchase directly finances the greatest non-House threat to Rheinland.
The LWB do not, as far as we know, have any part in the production of the Jillies. They are simply a Stuttgart plant that "some supporters" happen to wear.
If anything they could be restricted/illegal to trade because they're endangered, but not for their political associations.
And from an oorp perspective, it's pointless to ban them since unlike Blood Diamonds, they are not priced as contraband so nobody really trades them anyway.
We can have another vote if a member of the Bundestag brings up the matter again, but I highly doubt it'll go any other way. Case closed.
tl;dr: Banning Blue Jillies does not have majority support in the Bundestag because reasons.
