No, you will be complaining about something else by that point
Why all the butt hurt about the ID, the only mistake I see is that Drrobe posted about it instead of an admin that everyone already hates
I haven't got a problem with Drrobe. Researcher ID sounds fun. Scannable rewards sounds awesome. Ambiguous SRP standards don't sound cool though. I don't see why it's not open use and people send in 1.2 sanctions for abuse. That way everyone gets access and if you act like a douchebag you lose the privilege.

Like the Phoenix ID and the Order Primary Fleet ID, they are just the same!! And have the same leader!! (and that's not you, sorry)
By the way, you just broke this server rule (again):
2.1 All posts must be in readable English
You mean USI and OSI haven't merged yet? They have pretty similar reputation charts, ships, routes, etc.

It also is not a mythical e-peen prolongation device. Some players are okay with building their roleplay within the allowances that a normal ID may provide, and others could expand theirs by requesting an unusual setup (i.e. a battleship when your ID can only fly cruisers maximum).
Getting an approved SRP also does not require you to write a bestseller that makes the entire world name their unborn child after you.
The researcher ID is something to pursue if you attach certain gameplay elements to it. Otherwise, from a pure gameplay aspect the Spec Ops ID would probably work just fine. On the other hand, it makes dealing with other players easier. From the mental side, the researcher label is something that shows the other player that you are not going to insta them and immediately feel more open to RP. A similar experience can be observed when flying around with K'Hara ID compared to Nomad Trial ID, whereas with the latter players appear to be less likely to attack you preemptively.
Players who focus solely on roleplay that does not involve PvP (which is what is described when talking about "Hardcore RPers", not quality or quantity of ones roleplay) can acquire this neat little perk with less restrictions. Abiding to lazy players who feel entitled to have any toy on the server without having to work for it is not something I would recommend, so I greatly welcome giving the researcher ID lots of allowances in return for making it SRP only.
It's almost like you're suggesting anyone without an SRP doesn't have good intentions or a genuine interest. Maybe it doesn't sprout a magical e-peen, but there is definitely some allusion of grandeur afforded to SRPs. It's a shame that we attach a 250 million powermine/powertrade in order to make sure people have been on the server long enough, but then also add a few months of character existence into the equation to make sure it's around for long enough. It definitely filters out who can make money and who can't be bothered grinding.
You're suggesting a semi-metagaming sort of roleplay where people scan IDs before deciding to interact?
