Problem is.. You shouldn't have said that you are carrying it to the Corsairs..
Imagine this ..
You enter a gun store, and you want to buy a gun. Dealer thinks it's for self defense, he checks your license blabla and all..
And then all of the sudden, you tell him that you need that gun so you could rob a bank.
In RP no one would ever say to a lawful House military that he's working for their second worst enemy
So, it was actually your mistake if they asked you to drop cargo.
There are no rights for criminals as long as they are free.
If I was in that situation, I'd try to think of a story that would satisfy them.
Something like, I have that 'transponder' because Cambridge is crowded with Corsairs, and it's my safe-passage ticket trough it.
They think I'm a Corsair, while actually I'm a simple trader (or junker, or whatever).
I'm sure BPA wouldn't make much of a hassle if you made up the right story.
But you didn't, so you faced the consequences. From that point of view - it was you who started all this, not them.

It is every Corsair's responsibility to die a beautiful death in defense of Crete, regardless of how OORP or how capwhoring the opposition is. Launch your fighter, joust the battlecruisers and die a beautiful death. Then, drink it down in the bar.
