The thunder outside rattles the windows as the rain bears down from the black overcast sky almost as unrelenting as ever. Christy comes in from the back behind the counter, and scans the floor of her shop, seeing a woman with her face on the desk, with a quiet amused chuff she continued to sort and replace the pastries for the afternoon selection.
Lightning flashed as a the door opened slowly, A man walked into the establishment, his police trenchcoat and helmet glistening after leaving the eternal downpour behind him. "Afternoon Mr De'Havilland" Christy said after a breif check to see who it was before continuing on her way to the back of the shop, still organising the stock.
Justin removed his coat and helmet, placing them on the drying rack. "mm hm" he offered simply, noticing the woman with her head down in the corner, though not really paying her any mind. Christy came shuffling back through to the store front with a small crate of fresh pastries. "Same as usual?" she asked him in a tired manner, since the pair of them hadnt exactly had the best history but he was a regular customer.
"Please, yes" Justin offered whilst he took his usual seat at the counter right infront of christy. he turned for a moment re-thinking this and then moved over to the jukebox in the corner of the shop front. Taking out his card he scanned it against the machine projected a list of available tracks, with the option to scroll. Ignoring this he spoke clearly to the machine "Track 301, medium volume" after a moment the appropriate music began to play in the shoppe.
It was then he moved back to his seat. Taking out his holo crystal he placed it on the counter and switched it on, a holographic display activated and shimmered. He began to idly peruse the news headlines, looking for any signs of happiness. He knew it was a fools errand.
Christy approached and placed his usual black coffee onto the counter and then left again to attend to other things. Justin without looking or saying anything continued to read the news, "Gallics Reaching for Liberty!" said the headline. thunder rattled ambiently outside as he reached for his coffee and took a sip "arent they coming to finish us off... ?" he asked rhetorically to himself and sighed with a light shake of the head.
