The goal of this change, according to what has been said by admins, was to stop indy pirates from demanding credits from law enforcement right?
So.... Why is it that the actual change doesn't read anything even remotely close to this? Cuz I have to say, right now it looks as if there is definitely secondary motives or problems besides just this ONE so called problem. If that is the case, care to share what they might be instead of just telling us that its "our fault" for playing the ID how it read? If that is NOT the case, and this change was really supposed to be a precise and targeted change to eliminate indy pirates pirating law enforcement, then I'm sorry but it failed and hard.
And to the people complaining about the demand being followed by an ultimatum involving their death, ummmm duh? Does this really need to be said? What kind of ridiculous outlaw or robber when denied money, would then "rp" asking to take their imaginary shirt off their imaginary back? RI DI CU LOUS. Remove the ID entirely if this is the "RP" you want us to go for, cuz I'm sorry I play a pirate to be a bad guy and bad guys lay down the punishment they don't offer weak alternatives that cheapen their own game experience, and for that matter everyone elses. Shirt off your back gimme a break. Can't believe people used such lame examples of RP to use instead of "pay or die". Anyone who seriously is out there pirating for imaginary shirts is breaking RP more than anyone asking 2 mil or death, atleast the latter reflects an actual outlaw and not a stuffed animal.
2 mil or die isn't even close to pvp abuse to begin with, you should target the ACTUAL problems like pirating law enforcement and pvp abuse by asking absurd amounts or not offering enough time (even though all that waiting for a trader to respond will get you is 1 d/c'ed trader more often than not, atleast the ones that stall are MOST definitely doing this but I guess NM that ooRP abuse eh?). I think we can all agree that 2 million is pennies on this server correct?
Basically eliminated one of very few roles on this server that don't require attaining a PHD in your chosen field.. err faction I mean. Theres a reason why I chose to play an indy pirate and not faction pirates, because the rest do not appeal to me as a newcomer to both Disco and to Freelancer period, at all. Is this my fault? ofcourse not. Is it the servers fault? DEFINITELY not. Will they probably appeal to me more once I actually log some real hours here and get over my newbie status in this game as a whole? Almost certainly. My point? You took the one niche I found intriguing right now, and you murdered it for bogus, unrelated, and irrelevant reasons..
@Snake below me, I totally agree with you, altho I am still too new to know about these bounties you speak of. It sounds like a very cool aspect and it also sounds like it would fit the pirate RP absolutely perfectly. I really hope they consider that.
