Memento considering your mentioned movies, hands down.

I would also recommend Memento if you want something very "cerebral."

Otherwise, No Country for Old Men or even Miller's Crossing are both good Cohen Bros. movies if you're into those.

Total yes, series 1 was excellent

If you want weird sci-fi action thriller type stuff: Pandorum and The Island were pretty good (in my opinion).
