Kyoto Base, Chugoku System
10/22/822 A.S. 1505 Hours. There was something about the long, ancient corridors of Kyoto Base that brought Kazuhiro Shimazu a certain peace of mind. Whereas most centuries-old space stations would emanate an air of decay and decline, there was a refined feeling to every inch of this venerable stronghold of the old shogunate. Far removed from the great metal spires that dominate much of Kyoto, Kazuhiro instead paced through the inner bowels of the asteroid metropolis. He was en route to receive a list of names to be added to the names of the deceased Dragons this month. Few walked through the depths and forgotten modules of Kyoto, and with only minimal climate control, the cold chill of space seeped in like the creeping frost on a window in winter. Kaz brought the collar of his coat closer to his face as a bit of air escaped from a pipe to his left, biting his cheek.
"If it weren't for this damn need for secrecy, I wouldn't need to freeze down here..," Kaz murmurs, turning a corner and encountering a man in a similar bundle of clothing.
Without a word, the man slipped him a small paper with a number of names on them. He nodded at Kaz before slipping out of the corridor, disappearing from sight as silently as he appeared. Kaz sighed and began to walk back towards the main structures of Kyoto Base, intending to deliver the new list to the communications center to relay it through the public address system.
