Thus, it's very likely that the Suncrusher itself was destroyed in the process.

It decloaked and jumped away.

I feel the original Suncrusher was destroyed. Else they would've used it again when humans landed in Sirius. My opinion was the Nomads already had a suncrusher, used it on sol. was destroyed. They thought the human race was wiped out but upon discovering humans in Sirius, they started building a new one. It's a super weapon, it'd take assumingly hundreds of years to make.
