The last time I "ended" the game before I found Discovery is something I think I'm going to need to explain, so sit back and relax.
We all remember that feeling when we found out Trent's first name, the cheerful music played one last time, and we found ourselves on the Liberty Launch Pad with that glorious Order fighter. I've done many things after this point, but none compare to the time Trent decided to head for the Omicron systems. This wasn't given much thought, but he'd always wanted to go out and explore the Omicron systems, remembering back to his life before Freeport 7 and saving humanity in the Sirius Sector. Now, not only was he once again able to go where ever and do what ever he wanted but he had equipment to back him up as well.
Though it's hard to say if he could have ever predicted what would happen next, did he know what kind of a person he would become in the far reaches of space, was it possible that somewhere the thought crossed his mind that he would never see Liberty again. Rhineland space found him pondering what all the people he had met in the last few weeks would go on to do. It's also a possibility that as he traveled through a Jump Gate one last time into Omega 11 that none of this was in his mind and his true nature was just beginning to bear fruit.
See one thing he hadn't been proud of was the deal he made with a Junker on his way out here, changing his rep to be friendly with the Junkers cost him a lot of respect. It also made the the less legal factions quite a bit less angry with him which is important in the lawless expanses of the Omicrons and Omegas. The big kicker was when he visited Freeport 5 and he met a bit of a shady fellow, couldn't even remember if it was a Corsair or a Zoner but this second deal was sure to be remembered. His life as a Corsair had begun, and with almost all his money spent it was time to increase his credits, because why not. Omicron Theta presented itself as a scary place at first, making sure to avoid the Outcasts which once again hated him he targeted the Bounty Hunters in their Barracudas with all the ferocity of a true Hispanian.
After a dozen contracted missions and with the help of random encounters he managed to appease the Outcasts and increase his reputation with the Corsairs as well, the Zoners didn't really care. Descending upon planet Crete he found the ship that would carry him into legend. Many other Freelancers that he had met had question why anyone would want anything but the sleek and incredibly powerful Eagle. However, he knew what he wanted and no one was going to stop him from purchasing the heaviest fighter in the game- The Titan. Making sure to continue only targeting the Bounty Hunters he was able to eventually make peace and eventual friends with the Outcasts as well, which opened up the doors to Lane Hackers, Rouges, and several other factions. Except for the Red Hessian's, those guys are jerks- seriously wondering how they've managed to survive this long.
Despite his rise in power and his growing following on Crete and Freeport 9 for killing hundreds of Bounty Hunters his core instinct remained, the inner child couldn't help but look out to the stars as he faced down yet another contracted thug. So he appeased this voice within him and flew around all the systems he knew at the time, this inner voice spoke a lot about his numbed sense of death though as he brought back tales of a planet full of Primates and Robots. No one was crazy enough to follow him into a sector of the nebula known for Nomad activity, so his sanity was in question at the best of times- he always came back though. When he finally found Omicron Alpha and the home of the Outcasts, then he understood, he understood a lot. An hour he spent floating around the Hispania, a mixed moment of silence and anger, perplexed as to why humanity was still in the same state as it has always been. Just because the distances are in light years instead of kilometers doesn't mean the same logic can be applied to the brain.
His exploration continued into another Unknown system, more credible this time as he brought back powerful nomad weaponry which decorated his ship with the power necessary to deal even more damage to not just the Bounty Hunters, but now the Gas Mining Guild as well. In Omicron Beta he found himself challenged like never before, and he earned a new respect with the Outcast as the number of intrusive miners that he had slain passed the number of years the longest among them had ever lived. He had done what few had accomplished before him, if any had tried this momentous task at all- he had befriend both those that stayed with the Hispania to it's end, and those who had decided to evacuate her just months earlier. That is the true original difference between the warring parties that he understood.
Retirement wasn't something that he considered ever, until his very existence began to seem routine. Grab a mission from Ruiz Base, kill a dozen or so GMG fighters, earn 200,000 credits, return to base, and repeat. He spent a long time in the bar that last time, thinking about what to do next. Then he remembered, checking his rep he could see that it hadn't been just the Outcasts he had appeased. Though the effects were incredible small they did add up, almost every pirate faction that was at least affiliated with the Outcasts respected him. He knew what he had to do, and as the Titan left Ruiz one last time and departed the system towards Sigma-19 the thought of seeing Liberty again intrigued him.
After his genocide of Omicron traversing and incredibly intrusive gas miners it's safe to say Kusari didn't like him. That didn't matter though as the less stable jump holes quickly led him past the self proclaimed technological center of Sirius and the independent systems. Not paying much attention to the Colorado system, and killing Xenos so quickly he even turned off all but one of his nomad guns just to give them a fighting chance- but he didn't have anything on him that weak. It was so easy he wasn't really paying attention anymore, the only think that made him blink for a second was remembering the early days when he served the corporation of Liberty Security and stopped an innocent trader from giving artifacts to willing buyers on the Middle and Upper Class dominated planet of Manhattan. It's still debated if he was a nomad though, as no one has heard of him since his escape.
Of course then, I saw it. The blue marble that I had departed so many months ago, it's hard to believe that this place that now once again hated Trent and had still awarded him the Lone Star medal. On Liberty's most wanted and one of Liberty's most Honored citizens, like any good member of the Liberty Navy that has realized how corrupt their "democratic" government is. So Trent never did see Liberty again, instead he returned to a mess of humanity that would eventually falter in the night sky. The people would continue but as for the system around them, well Trent never saw Liberty again. Without hesitation he blew back far into space, not even stopping to toy with the Xenos. When he reached omicron Alpha he wondered where to go next, so he went to the last uncharted place on his map, Tau-37. After having re-adjusted to the more skilled Bounty Hunters he docked his Titan at Freeport 10 and spent the next 2 decades there, having an excellent Reputation with the Outcasts and the Corsairs and laughing at the fact that Red Hessians exist. And Xenos, seriously hating on Xenos.
Then I didn't touch Freelancer for a year and found out about the Discovery Mod, sorry for the piss-poor writing. - Tuchinsky
