Adding layers of birocorcy over events would be a bad idea, but you can see how some events need to be planned in a bit more detail, especially if groups will use their outcome as RP and that is always a potential disaster.
My suggestion is that you stick with Jax's mentality, make smaller and locale events with as little RP impact as possible and let people have fun. Activity breeds activity and if people check the player list and see that something is going on, they tend to log. That is how we max the server out these days.
My point in the previous thread was that players are now used to events being peak-time and do not log for the sake of logging to see if something would happen. People would rather now log for a reason.
Boo, I suggest you think yourself as an impromptu DM and give people something fun to log in for every day, if it is possible.
For example, set up both Alpha and Gamma as the event systems, give OC and Corsair IDs an ''encouraging'' 3m per kill, give players a scoreboard for tracking their aptitude and watch the fun.
I've always liked that sort of thinking. I've always wanted to work with something along those lines myself, though I just have not had the time until just recently as Summer Break began.
As I mentioned up in my first reply to you in this thread, if you (or anyone at all) wants to make an event, just throw me a private message. I'll probably make that message more visible/clear at some point, though I certainly wish to do that sort of thing myself.
I'm too busy with other things to come up with event ideas myself. But seriously, I don't have to. You guys have been known for coming up with ideas faster than we can handle.
