Vichy Base

Location: 4G
Affiliation: The Council
Visual evidence: [1]
Last update: 07-29-823, Etienne Savoie

CLASS: Napoleon III
GRAVITY: Complete
DOCKING: Yes
AMENITIES: Yes
POPULATION: 320

Vichy is one of the most recent asteroid bases built in Gallia by the Council. The Sioule Asteroid Field lacks any valuable resouces, so large asteroids within the field are mostly intact. The lack of mining activity also ensured that the Police and Navy are not motivated to thoroughly patrol inside the field. The Council started building Vichy in 655 A.G.S., and in six years it was fully operational.

Lapalisse Depot

Location: 2E
Affiliation: The Maquis
Visual evidence: [1]
Last update: 07-29-823, Etienne Savoie

CLASS: Papon
GRAVITY: Complete
DOCKING: Yes
AMENITIES: Yes
POPULATION: 190

Lapalisse Base was built by the Maquis within the Limagne nebula in 699 A.G.S. . The construction site was mainly supplied from Vichy base belonging to the Council, and Council pilots are frequent guests at the facility. One of the primary tasks the depot was supposed to support operations in Auvergne and Provence, where there is a relatively light Navy presence. The site was also used to coordinate a large number of attacks, meant to confuse and disrupt the Gallic Navy operations in the days leading up to the Council's push through the minefields.

Clermont Space Colony

Location: 3F
Affiliation: Gallic Royal Police
Visual evidence: [1] [2]
Last update: 07-29-823, Etienne Savoie

CLASS: Blaise Pascal
GRAVITY: Complete
DOCKING: Yes
AMENITIES: Yes
POPULATION: 1240

The Auvergne system is one of the few human-developed systems in Gallia completely devoid of habitable planets. None of the planets present in the system were found suitable for colonization, not even for a mining colony. Most of the system's economy is concentrated around two large space colonies: Clermont and Montlucon. Auvergne is also the least populated of the Southern Borderworld systems with a population of no more than 7,000.

Clermont was built in 549 A.G.S. in the orbit of Planet Montferrand. It was initially a temporary installation that would house workers employed on other construction sites, including Riom. As years went by, the station was expanded with new modules and grew into a large compound base that was classified as a Space Colony. Its population capacity rose from 250 in 550 A.G.S. to over 1000 in 680 A.G.S. . The original modules of the station are still operational, but they are in poor condition. As a result Clermont has some of the cheapest living quarters Gallia has to offer for those who prefer living in space to dwelling planetside. The more recent additions to Clermont have far more comfortable living conditions. The inhabitants of the station are mostly employed in the light industries on Clermont or elsewhere in the system.

Riom Shipyard

Location: 3F
Affiliation: EFL Oil and Machinery
Visual evidence: [1]
Last update: 07-29-823, Etienne Savoie

CLASS: Gilbert Romme
GRAVITY: Complete
DOCKING: Yes
AMENITIES: Yes
POPULATION: 340

Riom was one of the first stations built in the Auvergne system. A light industrial facility that mainly mass-produces smaller spacecraft for the civilian market, it has seen a considerable boost in productivity as the nearby Clermont colony expanded, and its citizens required small civilian craft to travel to the Gallic core worlds. Riom also produces larger civilian space fighters for various corporations.

Montluçon Space Colony

Location: 4D
Affiliation: EFL Oil and Machinery
Visual evidence: [1]
Last update: 07-29-823, Etienne Savoie

CLASS: Audrey Tautou
GRAVITY: Complete
DOCKING: Yes
AMENITIES: Yes
POPULATION: 1530

The large space colony of Montlucon was built in 644 A.G.S. by EFL Oil and Machinery. The facility is representative of a new generation of space colony facilities. Montlucon was built utilizing recent advances in technology, and follows strict quality standards for space habitats. EFL managed to keep the station profitable for most of its existence. The Second Gallic War attracted a large number of migrants from the Languedoc system, bringing the station to full capacity. EFL's policies deny the acceptance of any additional people, even relatives of the current settlers.

The station also houses one of the largest Polymer production plants in Gallic space. High-quality Polymers that require Zero-G production methods, and various byproducts are exported from Montlucon to a number of locations in Auvergne, Orleanais, and beyond.

Aurillac Base

Location: 6C
Affiliation: Gallic Brigands
Visual evidence: [1]
Last update: 07-29-823, Etienne Savoie

CLASS: Sylvestre
GRAVITY: Complete
DOCKING: Yes
AMENITIES: Yes
POPULATION: 520

Despite its remote location within the Truyere Asteroid Field, Aurillac is the oldest known pirate base built in the Auvergne system. It was probably built between 510 and 540 A.G.S., although the exact date isn't known. Most likely the first permanently inhabited base within the system, it lies near an alternate jump hole to Provence. The population of the base is heavily involved with the slave and Nox trade, but the substance is not usually sold onboard the station since local Brigand leaders want to prevent spreading the addiction to the base workers.

Saint-Flour Mining Facility

Location: 7B
Affiliation: Gallic Metal Service
Visual evidence: [1]
Last update: 07-29-823, Etienne Savoie

CLASS: C-12
GRAVITY: Complete
DOCKING: Yes
AMENITIES: Yes
POPULATION: 170

Saint-Flour is a modern mining facility built in 648 A.G.S. by Gallic Metal Service. The facility is equipped with everything necessary to mine and process ore from the nearby Allier Asteroid Field. A trade lane was built to Saint-Flour from Montlucon, serving not only to transport the raw materials back to Gallia and Mining Machinery to it, but to provide the workforce with a quick commune from the systems civilian colonies, where most of the miners families are housed. During the last two decades, the ore deposits within Alliers were largely depleted, forcing Saint-Flour to scale back its operations. Yet, mining in the remote areas of the field continues, despite increased Brigand raids against the miners operating far from their base.
