We deployed to investigate Kusari after hearings of a large force of unknown vessels with hostile intent, estimating that it was the Cult. Which it was. Upon arrival, we discovered that they were fully automated vessels, lacking any sort of Commander. Our objective was to observe what technology was in use, and to deliver a message to them concerning the occurring anomalies.
Due to the lack of a sentient, we salvaged some of the drones in hopes of analysing the components to find a reliable signal to send back a Courier made from the wreckage. We noted that a particular Jared Nomak with a bandit of theirs was present, attempting to take the salvage. Naturally, we destroyed the fool and took the loot. It's amusing to me how an imbecile of such can even lead a ring of bandits, particularly when their 'friends' retreat like cowards - how loyal of them. Never-the-less, we obtained the goods.
Though... one of our runners spotted something VERY interesting.
One of the returning Kusari war vessels seemed to have obtained some unknown materials from the wreckage of the fight. Perhaps this is the specialised material that these Cultists use in their technology? Perhaps it's used in their anomaly devices, perhaps not. There is only so much information available about these proclaimed materials, that even the NeuralNet's rumors about it remain skeptical.
Samples of this resource is required for further study and for cataloging, which is why I shall be allocating Maria Calvo to lead the study team on this matter. However, our goal within the Omicrons to find out the fate of McCool remains. It is very likely that he is being held on a high security cell on Durban, though that remains unconfirmed.
