I disagree with you, Karst. Whilst there are a lot of scifi tropes and points of irritation in Fallen Angels lore (They're some kind of super-soldier descended Atticus Rockford special snowflake Alliance Battlestar Galactica mfers with very obvious similarities to both Colonial Republic and The Legion of Edgy Names), both the Crayter Republic and the Hellfire Legion have gradually been seamlessly integrated into discovery lore.

Haha what.

I didn't want to bring them into this but since you mentioned them, HF is a perfect example of a non-integrated faction with fantastically absurd, powergamey lore, off running their own private mod in southern Liberty thanks to heavy faction-dev interplay. They have no place in modern discovery either.
CR is a little better but still won't let go of their unrealistic backstory, and the Coalition which you claim needs a counterpart is yet another example of an unnecessary addition that doesn't fit in well.
