To be fair, space is only for rich people. A ship already costs more than a million, shields cost thousands, etc. Bounties begin with a million already.

You can still end up poor after that, a ship can also be lent or a gift, otherwise workers in space complaining about low salaries wouldn't be a thing because they all got to be rich anyways. I always like to imagine that going to space is pretty standard in 824 A.S. and that the majority of people who want to stay on Planets do so by choice.
