I'm not fully sure where the Battlegroup's been in terms of contact, as seeing the activity from our ships in both Bering and the Republic proper, we haven't been very silent. Reserved, but not silent. I'm not fully sure why the Admiral hasn't reached out again to close up past operations, but perhaps she's busy with matters like Marshall, or perhaps even the defense in Puerto Rico. I can't say.
Moving on, however. The design of the gate, as you said, is most likely halted, though with the construction stopped they could still be running tests. My belief is that the data contained on that station would be of use to both Harmony and the Hackers, and given that securing it would mean that Ageira would have a fairly significant deficit in their plans for it, there would be quite a bit to gain from all of it.
The operation would be focused mainly in two parts, with both being able to be done simultaneously. Part one would focus on disabling the gate, keeping it from becoming a danger in the event of, as you said, another potential collapse. It would also prevent them from activating the gate in the scenario that it actually does work.
Part two would be an overwhelming siege, where the station would be assaulted by combined forces of both of our groups to raid and secure what data we could procure, as well as even the possibility of securing the gate and station for your own.
Precise planning will need to be done before any attempt is made, but the belief is that the station will be quick to fall given the light defenses around it. With hope, this will put a dent in not only Ageira's work, but the Navy's as well.
