You could do what I did, copy your whole Freelancer folder to a USB memory device and install Freelancer modmanager on it, when you want to play, just insert the USB and play with low graphic settings, you may experience some lag, but it should work, just fix all shortcuts and stuff first.

It's always sad to lose a player from this community, Take care
