This is my first entry after a long time. I gotta say it’s a strange time for Liberty. It’s like everyone tries to rip it off from all the sides. I guess that’s how Sirius' special snowflake always was. Had a gift to attract trouble. Some are real threats, others are just lost idealists. The Gallics pushed far into Sirius at a concerning rate. Since they ravaged a part of Bretonia, they are in California now. Command put the high alert and a system wide monitoring situation. Thing is that, all of my family is at L.A.

Amanda called, some hours ago. She said there is quite a scene around the streets of the city. In times of War, people are splitting as usual into extremes. Protests all over calling out the authorities for not securing our borders, the government.. everything. I understand them. To a regular civilian, seeing enemy vessels in his home system, and especially in the planet’s orbit, he thinks what did he do to deserve it. I cannot blame them. But they point the finger towards me. I am supposed to protect them 24/7. But nobody can do that. The Navy didn’t excelled only these two last days. I’ve seen the reports of the battles raging in California. Since I’m on duty aboard Norfolk, I cannot actually leave that quickly and during several zones, I could get shot down.

Not to mention the Legion. God they are so annoying sometimes. Especially their shitty attitude. It’s like they are injecting extra levels of testosterone. Acting all tough. They are just rebels. Perhaps they had an ideal years ago, perhaps they started like those civilians over Los Angeles who are frightened for their protection. I do not know. Thing is.. sometimes even in the most cruel enemy you can find a sign of humanity. Strangely when I went to hit the Hellfire with the Secondary, they didn’t started firing. They issued no orders to do that. They fired only to defend eventually.

Interesting. I watched what happened after that. It was a disaster. The lack of the Secondary captains’ experience, came with heavy casualties. Useless loss of life on both sides. As I said before, sometimes I wished it would’ve been another way. Perhaps there is, I am not sure yet. But after my ship got crippled to space dust almost, I watched in retreat. It was… pure entropy. All my senses told me it was wrong what was happening.

That thought led me to the Harmony. Months ago, a certain miss Victoria Knight sent me a series of data files since she saw I was not trigger-happy. I never managed to contact her back, I will relate on that in my next log. Thing is, I saw the files, that was indeed an interesting part. For a reason the Harmony was accused of infestation and the crew of it was sent to Juneau Shipyard. Of course all the possible treasons and accusations were addressed to these individuals.

Presumably the Harmony’s crew poked their nose into something. They strongly believe that the Liberty still has certain external “interventions”. It’s hard for me to believe that… I am a man of duty and honor. I… seem to act like a boyscout. I got this sense of duty from my ol’ man. “Alec, the duty and the family are above anything else. Respect your country, your duty and thus you respect your family.” Somehow I feel he always loved his duty more. I’ll talk about it more. Time to bunk in.
