He looked up a little and chuckled, "A time traveler....." He then looked back down to where Alessa was, "....hardly. I suppose it'll forever be a mystery as to how I got here."
When she went to fill her glass, he followed for the same purpose. He took the bottle of what she was going to have and served her.
"It sounds a little like the old Council of Zoners in that it became one Zoner, one vote." Finished filling her glass, he did the same to his own. "What a mess that became. Every Zoner voted their own interest or in many cases, the interest of their friends that weren't Zoners." Finished pouring, he headed toward where they were dancing before as the music again began to play.
"For example, if a Zoner was sympathetic and friendly with the Corsairs, their vote was of Corsair interest, not of their own. It became a problem in the long run. THAT, Alessa, is what I am afraid of."
Before he would return to waltzing with Alessa, he put a log in the fireplace and stoked it. It made for a somewhat relaxing background. Someone on the outside looking in would think it was romantic. Still, a relaxed environment made for easier discussion. He then turned to Alessa, put his drink down and motioned again to pick up where they had left off.
"Now, I don't oppose the Consensus, I am just worried about it staying true to what it was intended for." He thought a moment and then asked, "So where would meeting take place?"
