First of all, before I begin logging everything, I'll just say one thing:
God bloody damn it!

I can't believe I finally paid the last bit of my debt and I'm on my own again. It feels both good and quite horrid. Having to start all over again isn't fun at all, especially if you meet a pirate that isn't after money or expensive goods, but has a hard-on for destruction and slaughter instead.

Every time I met a pirate or a shady person, there was always a slight chance of negotiating a deal that would end in a win-win situation. Not this time around. The Ghost of Canterbury has gone through hell just like its predecessor, the Eagle of Canterbury - Unlawful jerkwad split the ship in half, blew up the cargo hold, and would have probably fried us as well if a piece of debris didn't squish him like a bug in his tiny little bomber cockpit.

Luck was on my side that day. Thank god for that. I'm not anxious to find out how it feels to be annihilated by a transport's reactor meltdown.

Of course, ever since I left Bowex and went on to pick jobs on my own with my very own ship, insurance was out of the question. So I lost the Ghost of Canterbury, and after being rescued by a bunch of Zoners from the wreckage - almost moments before the life support systems ran out of oxygen to serve us, mind you - I had to take a crappy loan to buy another big transport.

Couldn't be arsed to name it fittingly though. Ghost of the Ghost of Canterbury sounds absolutely ridiculous, so I'm sticking to the old call-sign.

I'm just hoping that I won't need to take yet another loan a year later, when some ballsy pirate psycho comes knocking around. My patience with pirates is wearing thin...
