The modulated shroud has failed, just as I predicted; The hungry crystalline vessels siphon the power core's energy. But I am not concerned. The time for hiding has passed. There is a fleeting sensation of comfort, even, that washes over me periodically. After all I had done; All that I saw, all that I built and all that I sacrificed, I've finally reached a milestone. I know that the Commune would perpetuate itself, even if I were gone. It is no longer a puppet construct; But a creature with a will of its own. I am no longer the Atlas on whose shoulders rests the world. But that does not mean my work is done. The opposite.

There is always more to experience and achieve. I see so much more. New possibilities open every day. I know now, that it was always my destiny to walk this path. The suffering received and suffering inflicted, merely the payment for entry into the realm of existence that awaits me. The prize that I am entitled to. I no longer fear my non-existence; For it is evident - either through the Matrix, or through some other means - I will never die. My path forward was written before all time. Eternity calls to me. It is the least of what I deserve.
