We're in an era where abstract people throttle community enjoyment with agendas and whatnot.
This always happened, but now the community has a greater relative ability to influence the mod than at any time previously, people are forgetting that asymmetrical conquest isn't a thing, and are playing the game like it's Risk.
It's not that. Call me a sceptic but given the rumours people that the Hypergate is to be used as a sucker punch to instantaneously end the Gallic War in a single moment, with a Sirian victory, and how the Dev team want to end the war ASAP, I find myself concerned about the direction that this will go in. On further inspection, this seems like a test-bed for the recently added titan content. Maybe the second part of this series will provide the chance for Gallia to push back. I can't say I'm entirely privy to what the Devs are planning, however, given what happened in the last Official event in NL that Gallia was a part of, I can't help but be suspicious.
It's not that I'm against simply logging in for events or whatever where there's nothing to be gained other than pews (I'm actually planning such things myself right now), and not everything has to always revolve around gain/lose, it's just that the lack of transparency in this comes across as semi-concerning given the history.
