I logged in one of the first days of the event. I hadn't played in something like three years. I undocked a shared Unioner Arbeiter from Pacifica. There were something like twelve ships within 1K of the base with their /setmessages ready. I got missile spammed to death in about 60 seconds.
I honestly didn't mind. At some point you've played this game enough, and have been blued enough, to stop caring about dying. Hell, the respawn timer is one hour (at most) nowadays, how can anyone care?
However, if that's your first experience with the PvP ethics in the event, I think it's understandable if you're a little bit cynical about the involved players' attitudes towards fair play.
Want my honest assessment? Unioners have been figuring out ways to log in enough (of the right ships) recently and now you're all a little bit upset that you're losing again instead of dumpstering the opposition. It makes you look a little silly.
