Sorry if I will offend someone, but Disco looks good for us only. That's mostly because we see a lot more behind 16-years old game. Nice looking pictures are not that appealing like we crazy Discophiles think.
My suggestion would be: less nice pictures, more illustrations covering a message. Message about what game really offers (and nice graphic is not part of it, let's face it, sorry again).
Main features show very good short text that really nicely and shortly explains why we play. New player that needs more than that we don't need to stay. Let them get the picture by looking at illustrations.
My humble suggestions:
Live: that's grinding actually. Players like to grind. Show that sparkling moment of buying a new ship. From freighter to transport, maybe.
Fight: any pew. Simpler the better. Maybe a BS shooting a snub. All new players like it obviously.
Trade: sell something for a nice price. Let them feel belly tickles of making first pixel money.
Roleplay: no roleplay like Disco. Put some funny talks from space. There are many all around forum. Also forum RP. No forum RP like Disco.
Build: that moment: Build new base? Yes. No. (sorry I'm personally for no and know little about PoBs, but PoBs are appealing)
Explore: only feature that needs some nice panorama, like Kokopelli posted some - for example.
They should feel like trying after looking at those illustrations. And some of them might even read a text.
