⧫ ENCRYPTION: Order-EC[L] Patrol Report
Arrived yesterday at Marne as ordered. Whilst awaiting further orders I took some initiative. Got to know some local people, managed to get a list of possible items of interest in local space that might be of interest. If anything they'll at least be a few more marks in our navigational database so I took it upon myself to confirm the location and existence of each object.
Firstly, confirmed at F5 is planet Langren, a volcanic world of otherwise little interest.
A council battleship protects a disused jumpgate in G4.
Further up I found the planet Sedan and its moon Rethel at H3. Rethel is just a large rock in space, but Sedan shows traces of mineable materials. Could be further further investigation by the local government?
I discovered an outpost called Joinville: Francisci class at E2, deep within the Seine Asteroid Field. I was allowed permission to dock, there couldn't have been more than 200, maybe 250 people on board at a push? They appeared too mainly be smugglers and raiders, they were very interested in what I had to trade, and gave me little notice once they found out that I had nothing. I didn't stay long but they appear to loyal to some kind of crime family? Could be worth further investigation. I'd like to tag them as a possible asset worth investigating in Gallia. They could have knowledge of jumpholes, local patrols and even smuggling routes which could prove useful.
Even deeper into the field I encountered an unstable jumphole at D2. I didn't attempt a cross of the threshold, last thing I want is for myself and my ship to be scattered over several light years.
Found a local raider base in D3 called the Mazagran Deport. These raiders are loyal to an organisation called the Marquis, apparently they were a big help against the Gallian Monarchy. Flagging as possible asset.
At B3 found a hostile station, scans indicated it as Epernay Station. Definitely looks like it's seen better days, two of the stations arms have collapsed! Wasn't able to learn much from scans apart from some basic information, locals on Marne were able to confirm that it belonged to a group of Gallic Brigands. Flagging as possible hostile to Order operations.
At C5 found a planet called Sezanne. It's huge dessert world, bigger than some gas giants that I've seen! Initial scans show little strategic importance however. Sezanne has two moons, one another useless lump of space rock, the other shows promising water deposits. Apparently the water deposits on Vouziers are often mined and transferred to Marne already.
That's probably it for intel. I've been trying to learn more about the political fallout of the fall of Gallian Monarchy off the Neural Net in my downtime, but my Gallian is awful and I can't make heads or tails of it. At this point you probably know far more than I do. The Duke of Burgundy has seized control of a handful of systems and declared himself some kind of Archduke. There's also a handful of systems that have banded together and declared themselves an independent republic. I didn't have time to read the extra intel in my briefing, this is all probably in there already anyhow.
