Disparagement out of the way, brief history lesson.
Entitled pirate players cried about alternate routes existing for Ores and how people could use the playerlist to avoid the people hunting them using the playerlist. Buffer systems existing to pad space had long since been dealt with (except O-Tau, REEEEEE) and Guard systems became deguarded or were merged.
Honestly, systems like Corse and Mackenzie existing purely as "one base, one Jump Hole" systems didn't really contribute much. Ellesmere and Dusseldorf offered interesting alternate routes. The old Omega-55 was a fun rollercoaster.
New Hampshire, Dundee, and O-Eta were entertaining in their own right, but "battleground" systems were smothered by a pvp encounter-encouraging devteam a few years ago.
tl;dr this is DISCOVERY, not ECHAT & CHOKEPOINT. Different varieties of content in the boondocks to discover is a good thing, as are alternate paths for people to take.
