1. Where does Synth manufacture synth paste?
2. What bases/planets would sell it, if it existed?
3. What bases/planets would consume it, if it existed?
Synth Foods manufacture their paste on planets that they have farming licenses on. This would definately be Stuttgart, being the largest planet for growing paste. Kyushu does not fall into that cathegory, Samura has goverments contract there (they do synthesize themselves though).
Rheinland - Stuttgart 5 stars.
Honshu? Dont think so, its an ocean world. Rumors state that Synth Foods are having troubles with mastering luxury foods trade in Kusari, because Kusarians prefer sea food, which, appearantly, Synth Foods do not really grow. New Tokyo? It has potential, but I dont know of any clues that would lead me to conclusion. Junyo in SHikoku - also an ocean world, even more so. Perhaps Synth Foods import their paste to Kusari and thats pretty much it.
Kusari - not known, but possible in New Tokyo, although unlikely.
Cambridge is a green world where Cambridge Research Institute is stationed. Bretonia's epidemic Food shortages required the planetary regents to place farmers with scientists to develop more bountiful crops, making Cambridge the primary Food producer for Bretonia. Now I do not know if Synth Foods grow something on Cambridge, but Cryer abroad Institute research farming techniques for Synth Food, so its possible that they have a small camp planetside. New London is also a possible location. Its a crop growing planet, so small enclave may be present, but its also head of Bretonia, offices, goverment, bueraucracy and such. Although both BMM and Bowex are there, many corporations have headquarters there, so its also possible.
Bretonia - some farms may be present. Cambridge - very possible, likely to have. New London - There is a small, but still quite a possibility.
Denver was originally the home of miners, smelters, and shipyard workers, but these industries eventually collapsed with the declining long-term water situation in the California system. Yet, same Cryer maintains headquarters here, although Denver could have remained the place of industry, so I dont put much hopes in it. Rocky surface too. Los Angeles - yes and yes. We do produce or at least used to produce Synth paste there, there is no doubt in that. There was a downfall during draught, but Synhs did invent technologies allowing to grow paste in harsh enviroments (thats why Denver could produce it too). Found this quote.
Quote:Description: Mostly covered in deep salt water oceans, Los Angeles was popular among upper-class Manhattanites before terraforming efforts failed during the Great California Drought of 543 A.S. The planet's popularity has resurged with the economic windfall generated by Synth Foods. Synth Foods has perfected an engineered plant matter that can flourish in harsh environments and then processed into Synth Paste. The booming technology market recently induced Ageira Technologies to locate an optical chip plant here.
Texas? Well Houston is arid. Prison Liners, cheap labor, consumer goods and machinery. They do produce Fertiliziers, but you do not need farms to have these.
Conclusion:
On the whole, Liberty should contain stuffs on Los Angeles and New York at least. Kusari may not have paste at all, but its popular among the young, making New tokyo good place to sell it. Stutgart produces huge amounts of it too, but paste isnt very well within Rheinland, it is said that Synths get more profits for supplying Hunstville and Sugarland, than whole of Rheinland (rumors, not lieing). Liberty is definately the place to sell it, but it produces paste itself, so it would be silly. Lawful stations on independent and border worlds would consume it too, but population is not that big as of a planet, so dont expect much of them just because they are remote. Cambridge may also add something to the game. It may produce paste and prices in Bretonia shouldnt be too bad at selling, its rather popular and all. No ones even mad about it, like LWB or Farm. Alliance, although Bretonians do grow their own food too. Criminals may also buy it from Junkers, they need food and dont have places to grow it, but dont suspect prices to be high, its not contraband of any sort. Outcast have their own food, though. Corsairs feed on flesh, so meh (joke, alright?). Difference between lawful and not isnt big here.
I imagine these to be some of dome kind of buildings in which the food is grown and synthesised. So in a way they are small labs and plantations of sort. Many of them, though...
Not to confuse you... they are both grown and synthsised... Synths perfected an engineered plant matter that can flourish in harsh environments and then processed into paste.
Its hard to research about Synth Foods... No bases, little information, but I hope this gave you some clues.
Edit: Dusty made a point about Freeports. They may grow the paste.
To make it short and brutal. Rheinland and Liberty produces. Shipped to Bretonia and Kusari, remote planets and stations with high population (there arent many I suppose).
